Bruny Island is located off the coast of Hobart in east Tasmania and has dramatic scenery where you can see herds of seals and even the Northern Lights. One of the Christmas Bush species, Brusaria spinosa is swayed by the sea and land breeze and exudes the fragrance of flowers. The taste of this nectar that blooms at Christmas time is exceptional.

WILD HIVES operates beekeeping in a small town called Swansea in the heart of Tasmania’s east coast. You won’t see WILD HIVES honeys in any supermarkets and shops. They are provided only to hotels, bakeries, cafes and local Tasmanian shops so that it’s almost a miracle to meet WILD HIVES honeys on your travels. Swansea is about two and a half hours drive from Hobart. WILD HIVES is beekeeping in the natural depths of Tasmania. In addition, we have a special permit to install hives on the roof of Hobart’s city hall where we conduct reliable and careful natural beekeeping.
